The Merchants Bank Building located along South Beach is one of the many buildings in this historic district which have been preserved in their original condition to highlight the historic nature of the area. The Building has been beautifully preserved with it's Greek Revivial architecture being completed in 1910. The Bank Building now holds the Halifax Historical Museum. The inside of the Museum is decorated in the Beaux Arts style with expansive murals decorating the walls reflecting the history of the area.
