Long Description:
The town of Swissvale has seen better days during the golden years of the steel industry. Nowadays, the community is mostly elderly, or low-income young families that moved into the community for its low cost housing.

The park was dedicated in 1975, to honor a local resident that coached baseball for 40 years.
