This huge eagle is on an island in the pond next to Amphibiville in the Detroit Zoo. It is inaccessible but visible from many spots around the pond. The posted coordinates offer the best view. Plaques give the title and sculptor as well as a dedication to Laura "Lollie" Winans. Winans was one of two victims of a famous murder on the Appalachian Trail in 1996.
