The text of the plaque reads:

The Oregon Electric Railway built the depot in 1912. The passenger trains were of the interurban streetcar type with an overhead trolley as a power source. Five trains a day, each way, stopped at the depot to board passengers and express. One freight train a day, each way, ran usually at night, and was pulled by an electric locomotive. Passenger service was terminated in May 1932. Electric locomotives pulled the freight trains until 1953 when they were replaced by diesel electrics. In 1970 several railway companies were combined to form Burlington Northern, which operated the depot as a freight station until 1983. What to do with the deteriorating depot was on many people's minds until 1995 when it was acquired by the Vard Nelson family. Vard and his sons, Robert and Michael, renovated the depot.
