The Linnean Society of London is located in Burlington House with other nobel organizations such as the Royal Academy of Arts and the Geological Society of London.
The strongroom of the Linnean Society of London holds Linnaean collection of plant specimens. Carl Linnaeus started to assemble a herbarium in 1727 and it grew steadily in size, not only through
specimens he had collected himself, but also through acquisitions from friends, students and correspondents until his death in 1778.
Linnean Herbarium is just a part of the works conducted by the Linnean Society of London. They host many events and seminars through out London as well as conducting touring exhibits throughout the rest of the world. If you cannot attend any of their events, you can always explore one of their
on-line exhibits. The
On-Line Linnean Herbarium is one example.
