View onto 'Front and Lahainaluna Streets'
Lahaina is Maui's tourist mecca and a center of art galleries, fine restaurants, shops and boutiques. It is close to many of Maui's most popular resorts, condominiums and hotels.
There are numerous activity desks where you can get a deep discount on activities if you are willing to sit through a timeshare presentation.
When the doors are closed during daylite time and until opening time, all you see is the inside of the door frames.

The Story of Lahainacam (so far)

---January 1999 - The original Lahainacam is installed by Perlbob on the exterior wall of a popular restaurant on Front Street in Lahaina.
--- September 2002 - Lahainacam averaging roughly 650 web visitors per day is shut down. Perlbob tries to get the restaurant to chip in for the monthly conncection expenses. No deal
--- May 2005 - Perlbob decides to put a high quality web camera and monitor in a surf shop window in the north shore Maui town of Paia. He calls it Paiacam.
--- September 2005 - Perlbob removes Paiacam. The shot is much too glarey most of the day. Viewers cannot make out the faces of the surfers or tourists as they straggle by. Highest daily web count was a dissappointing 425
--- November 2005 Sargent's Fine Art Galleries at 802 Front Street,Lahaina, Maui Hawaii generously provides a sparkling waterfront venue with throngs of mostly happy, interesting looking tourists strolling by. The gallery folks promise to try to brighten up the entrance so we can see the faces better and at night.
