Although somewhat mixed reviews on Yelp, this japanese restaurant and sushi bar is a favorite of the locals that had this to say:
"I eat here one a month or so. It's not the hip and trendy Shogun or Pink Godzilla, but it's a nice homey place where I'm always greeted by one of the owners."
"Their cooked mackerel (forgot the Japanese name, sorry) is the best this side of SF and they make a mean pickle. Give it a go!"
"Benten is up to par with the Japanese and sushi places in Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco. The ambience is wonderful,"
