Although not an antique, this carousel is owned and operated by Island Carousels, Inc, the company who own many of the antique and restored carousels throughout the United States. While I was talking to the operator he explained that many of the new carousels today come from Italy where they are still hand made in the same tradition as the ones 150 years ago.
It didn't matter to me whether it was antique or not - the music and lights brought back many happy memories for me while I enjoyed watching families with thier children make new memories for themselves.
