The Calumet MI Train Depot has fallen into disrepair. In the early to mid 60's you could still take passenger trains from Calumet.
Mineral Range Railroad completed the narrow gauge Hancock to Calumet line on 10/11/1873. On August 21, 1968, the mines in Calumet permanently closed following a strike. This station was once the headquarters for the Mineral Range Railroad; a division of the Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic. Built about 1908 for $25,000. In 1973, The Calumet passenger station was sold to a Detroit businessman. From Michigan's Internet Railroad History Museum
