Begun in October 2000 with the donation to the Mendon Foundation of the 45 acre plot, the preserve has been established to maintain the pristine nature of the geologic features as well as the historic nature of the area. An interesting feature of the preserve is the Drumlin located on the western edge of the property that affords spectacular views of the surrounding area.
