Mt. Jeez is really less of a mountain, and more of a big hill. The location overlooks Malabar Farm and much of "Pleasant Valley."
Malabar Farm was owned by author Louis Bromfield from 1939 until his death in 1956. He used the farm to develop and teach new methods of sustainable farming. Pleasant Valley, where Malabar Farm sits, and over which Mt. Jeez looks was the inspiration for several of Bromfield's books.
Mt. Jeez specifically was used by Bromfield on many occasions. Because one can see the entire lay of Malabar Farm, Bromfield would gather local farmers there so he could point out different methods he was trying in various fields.
Today Mt. Jeez is open to the public. A gravel road leads to the top. The road is closed in the winter, but one can still park at the bottom and walk to the top if it's closed. Parking at the top is not marked, so you basically park where you can find room. The number of available spots will vary depending on the number, and size of vehicles up there, as well as how they're parked.
