The Sullivan County Courthouse was constructed in 1894 of a Mid-19th Century Style. The building is two stories high with a full basement and has a four-story bell tower.

The primary exterior building material is a medium red brick with a limited amount of cut stones.

The architects for the construction of the courthouse were Wagner & Reitmeyer and the builder was Lawrence Brothers Builders.
