This limestone building served for many years as a stopping place for tavellers heading to the West.

The building was constructed in 1793 - with an addition built in 1820 & was also a stagecoach stop for the Chambersburg-Bedford Turnpike.

The town of McConnellsburg purchased the building in the 1970's for community use - the Fulton County Historical Society has been active in restorations to the structure and houses a small museum in several rooms.
