Inscribed on one side of this large memorial is the following: "In honor of our Union soldiers and sailors of 1861-1865"


It was erected by the Town of Volney, dedicated by the Daniel F. Schenck Post #241 - Department of New York G.A.R.-(Fulton), on May 31st, 1897. The other three sides are not inscribed.
