The 25' timber tower with L-4 cab was built in 1937 and was staffed regularly every summer until 1997. It is presently reserved for use during emergency conditions. The tower is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register.
The tower is reached by driving about 6 miles on forest roads, followed by a moderate 1 1/2 mile hike.

Accessible from spring through late fall, depending on snow conditions. During the off-season and any time the tower is in service, the road ends at a locked gate (N 48º18.925 W 120º 09.849). Do not block the gate.
