As part of a walking tour reflecting on Birmingham's racially-torn past, Artist James Drake's 1992 work depicts snarling police dogs leaping inward from two parallel walls. Visitors can stand between and try to imagine the terror, when civil rights marchers were assaulted with water cannon and the canines.
Also in the park are statues of an African American boy and girl behind bars, another memorial to the period in history when the city was known as "Bombingham."
