Originally built about 1875 in Dayton, Ohio, this was the last shop used by the Wright Cycle Co. at 1127 West Third Street. The shop had moved locations several times between 1892 and 1908, and at one point between 1895 - 7 they had two branches operating. This building is where the Wright Flyer was designed and engineered. In 1937 Henry Ford purchased the building and had it moved to his Greenfield Village historical site in Dearborn, Michigan. The Wright brothers conducted wind tunnel tests on the second floor of this facility, but that area is currently not open to the public.
