Forest Lawn Cemetery is the largest and arguably the most scenic cemetery in the Buffalo/Niagara area. The cemetery contains many many unique and architecturally beautiful headstones and markers, including numerous obelisks and mausoleums. I had always wondered if there were any zinc headstones here, but never found any in all my previous visits. However today I managed to find one near the gravesite of William Fargo (of Wells Fargo fame).
The zinc headstone actually looks like an old style headstone instead of a typical obelisk or slab. Unfortunately the seam between the two halves has come open, allowing the elements and critters inside. It also appears a piece is missing from the front and back. The headstone belongs to Katie Hellen, who was the husband of John F. Langanhadir. John is buried alongside her and has a stone marker.
