Marywood is a Retreat and Conference Center operated by the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine. The primary mission of Marywood is to serve the people and parishes of the Diocese of St. Augustine by providing facilities, resources, and programs that aid the process of spiritual renewal and faith development. Marywood is available to the wider interfaith community as well as non-profit and commercial groups.
Their outdoor Stations of the Cross has become a new Lenten tradition. Families come here and visit, even bring a picnic lunch to share an experience as they walk station to station reliving the journey of Jesus to Calvary. Each station has its own bench. At the beginning of the journey you receive a booklet describing Jesus' life at each station, from being condemned to death to the Resurrection. The Resurrection is the 15th station and should be done before the Resurrected Christ in the tabernacle, according to the booklet.
This was an amazing experience. We were totally alone while we walked these dirt paths through Florida's natural surroundings.
