Named for the Moody family, members of which were buried here 1883-1903. Amoung others interred here are John Smith Sr., Revolutionary War veteran who owned an adjacent plantation, and Enos Tart Jr., who served Marion District as Sheriff, Clerk of Court, and contractor for the district's 1823 courthouse.
