Victoria Square is the focal point for Adelaide City, as it is smack bang in the middle of the CBD. Victoria Square is named after Queen Victoria of the British Empire from the turn of the 19th/20th Century.
The square is home to many statues, including one of Queen Victoria. Other statues include Capt Charles Sturt (Great Australian explorer) and John McDouall Stuart (Also an historic Australian explorer). Surrounding the square ate such building as the Adelaide Town Hall and the General Post Office.
