One of 15 sculptures placed for Lincoln Financial Sculpture Walk at Riverfront. The sculptures are on both sides of the Connecticut River in Hartford and East Hartford.
The Lincoln Financial Sculpture Walk at Riverfront — created with more than $500,000 in donations from the Lincoln Financial Corp. — features the work of 10 artists from across the country. The sculptures, a series of 15 Abraham Lincoln pieces being installed along the riverfront, tie into the legacy of Abraham Lincoln (Lincoln Financial’s namesake) and illustrate the Philadelphia-based company’s commitment to Hartford.
This waymark is one of the sculptures, entitled "A Welcome Conversation," which includes a boulder for visitors to sit on for an imaginary discussion with the 16th president. A piece perfect for taking a photograph of you and a young Abraham.
