Blakely Mountain Dam was constructed in 1953 (as a result of the Flood Control Act of 1944). The dam is 231 feet high and is 1,100 feet wide. On the other side of the wall is beautiful Lake Ouachita. The power station below is run by the Corp of Engineers and is available for tours (Monday - Friday from 9am to 4pm).
