Corps of Discovery II – Culbertson, MT, is located on the lawn in front of the Culbertson Museum on the north side of US Highway 2 in Culbertson, Roosevelt County, Montana. The four-inch commemorative disk is mounted in a nine-foot diameter, round concrete pad, flush with the surface and at the center of a red and tan inlaid concrete star design. The disk is about 200 feet south-southwest of the museum’s front door, about 130 feet southwest of a flagpole, about 199 feet west of the centerline of a gravel road leading north, about 21 feet east of a chain-link fence, and about 12 feet southwest of the base of a metal bear sculpture. The disk does not have any identifying stamping other than the standard design elements of the commemorative series of disks: CORPS OF DISCOVERY II – 200 YEARS TO THE FUTURE – PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP. To reach from the intersection of Montana State Highway 16 (1st Ave) and US Highway 2 in Culbertson, go east on US Highway 2 for about 0.85 miles to the town museum and the station on the left. The museum is located about 250 feet north of the highway and in the northwest angle of the intersection of US Highway 2 and a gravel road leading north. Benchmark hunter “Callaway, MT” provided information that made tis visit and recovery possible. Recovery first logged at the Geocaching datasheet for station P543, PID = TH0485.
