Corps of Discovery II – St. Louis, MO, is located near the north entrance to the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park in St. Louis, MO, about five miles west of the intersection of Interstate Highway 64 and Interstate Highway 70 in downtown St. Louis. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources set the disk in 2004, and it was dedicated on March, 13, 2004, as part of the “Three Flags Ceremony” national signature event. visit link) . The 12-inch commemorative brass disk projects about two inches above the surrounding surface. It is northeast of the north entrance to the Museum, about 40.5 feet northwest of a flagpole, about 44 feet east of the extended centerline of the main entrance, about 12 feet south-southwest of a four-foot lamppost that is the fifth such post from the most easterly in a line of posts. The disk does not have any identifying stamping other than the standard design elements of the commemorative series of disks: CORPS OF DISCOVERY II – 200 YEARS TO THE FUTURE – PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP. To reach from the intersection of Interstate Highway 64 and Interstate Highway 70 in downtown St. Louis, go west on Interstate Highway 64 for about five miles to the exit for Hampton Ave/Concourse Drive. Go north on Concourse Drive for about 0.15 miles to the park entrance at the middle of the southern boundary of the park. From the entrance, follow signs to the Missouri History Museum northerly through the park to the Museum parking lot near the middle of the northern boundary of the park. From the parking lot on the south side of the Museum, walk north and west around the east side of the building to the north side of the building. Approaching the north entrance to the museum from the east, the disk will be on the left in the grass just south of the sidewalk.
