This interesting plaque is mounted on the wall near the entrance to the historic Coweta County Courthouse. One of the interesting aspects of this plaque is that it lists the names of those who lost their lives in the conflict and divides the names into white and "colored" citizens.
The text in part reads:
"IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF COWETA COUNTY, WHO SERVED THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR FOR WORLD-WIDE LIBERTY AND IN THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES 1917 1919"
It then lists the names of 21 whites and 13 "colored" who gave their lives.
