This overlook is not actually at the summit of Plattekill Mt., but there is no view at the summit.

It is along the Overlook Mountain Trail and can be approached from the south where the trailhead begins on Meads Mountain Road just north of Woodstock, NY.

From the north you can take the Devils Path to the Overlook Mountain Trail. The trailhead is on Prediger Rd, just off Platte Clove Road. Figure about a 3 mile walk from either direction (6 miles RT).

You see the Hudson River valley, with the blue ribbon of the Hudson snaking its way down the middle. On very clear days you can see the Berkshire Mountains in the distance.
