Historical Marker at site reads:

Old Lutheran Cemetery

Established 1768. Land given to German Lutheran congregation by John Lewis Beard. Contains graves of German, Scotch-Irish, and English settlers. Site of only church building in Salisbury for about 50 years. Wall built 1878.

Historic Salisbury Foundation 1983.

Located at E. Cemetery St. & N. Lee St. Salisbury, NC (Rowan Co.)

Features graves of NC Politicians: Nathaniel Boyden (1796-1873) and Archibald Henderson (1768-1822)

Also contains dozens of Civil War Soldiers graves.

I would guess there are approx 300 graves at this site.
