Not quite an acre in area, PIATT PARK extends down the middle of Garfield
Place between Vine and Elm Sts. The land was donated by the brothers John
and Benjamin Piatt in 1817; but not until 1940 did the city change the
name from Garfield to Piatt Park. Shade trees make the spot popular with
pensioners, who loll on the benches from the first warm spring day to the first
autumn chill. - Cincinnati: A Guide to the Queen City and Its Neighbors,
Tour 7, pg. 199.
The park was renovated in 1988 and is well maintained. The park is a
nice oasis in the city with nice shade trees, statues, fountains and benches.
The park also has free wireless access available.
