Point Richmond is a designated Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places, and it has a rich turn-of-the-century history as well as simply being a charming place to spend a little time.

The Point Richmond History Museum is housed in a small building that was formerly the Richmond Supply Company, a coal, wood, hay and grain delivery business. In 1989, the building had been scheduled to be demolished to make way for new development, but was saved by the community and moved to its present location. If the museum is not open, useful walking-tour guides are often available in a folder outside the door.
