EDS is a global technology services company that is located in Plano, TX. Originally founded by Ross Perot in 1962, it was later acquired by General Motors in 1984. In 1996, it was spun off from General Motors as an "independent" company. Recently, Hewlett-Packard announced they had reached a deal with EDS to acquire the company.
EDS has more than 100,000 employees worldwide working in nearly 60 countries.
