"Bottom of the Ninth," a metal-and-neon wall relief mounted on the exterior of the stadium by local artist Erick Johnson. Because Coors Field was not a city project but rather a metro-wide one, there was no obligation to include public art. The stadium district authority did try to provide some art anyway. All three ballpark art commissions were given to local artists, who carried them out with varying degrees of success. (excerpted from Westword, 'LOST AND FOUND' by Michael Paglia, January 3, 1996).

This art piece is also unique in that the neon lettering in the square windows will either read "Safe" or "Out." I think that is a fantastic touch for baseball fans!
