The marker reads:
Grave of Lucinda "Granny" White, who settled here in 1803 on 50 acres of land. She died in 1815 at about age 73. Granny White Tavern stood 200' to the north. Famous for its food, brandy, and comfortable beds, it attracted travelers from the Natchez Trace, four miles ot the west. Grave restored by General James Robertson Chapter D.A.R.
