Chequamegon National Forest - Dewey 1953 Benchmark - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This disk is located on a dirt forest service road in the Chequamegon National Forest, located in Bayfield County of northern Wisconsin. The mark is in rough condition, but in an open area off the dirt road. The concrete monument in which the disk is placed is now at an angle to the ground (not flush). There is a fair amount of wear on the edge of the disk, although the DEWEY 1953 stamp in the center is still visible. The disk itself has a rounded dent in it, as if it had been run over by a heavy logging truck!
