In June of 2007 the United States Postal Service issued a series of stamps that honored five historic Pacific Coast lighthouses. The Umpqua River Lighthouse that was built in 1890 was one of the featured lighthouses.

Painted by artist Howard Koslow, a stamp featuring the Umpqua River Lighthouse was released in a Commemorative Stamp Ceremony in Westport, Washington at the Grays Harbor lighthouse on June 21, 2007. An additional ceremony at the Umpqua River Lighthouse featuring a special postmark occurred on the 21st of July coinciding with the re-dedication of the lighthouse after renovations. Along with the 65 foot tall Umpqua River Lighthouse four other Pacific Coast lighthouses were honored in the First-Day-of-Issue celebration. The five featured stamps celebrating Pacific Coast lighthouses include Diamond Head Hawaii, Five Finger Alaska, St. George Reef, California and Umpqua River, Oregon.
