Located in a plush Ozark Canyon Roaring River Hatchery is one of the Oldest fish hatcheries in Missouri.
First constructed in 1910.
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)later rebuilt it during the 1930's.
The hatchery produces and stocks more than 250,000 rainbow trout each year and most end up right here in the 1.6 miles of trout streams that are within the boundaries of Roaring River State Park.
Every year more than 100,000 people come here to fish the crystal clear water,walk in the park, geocache and add a few Waymarks to their lists.
During the summer local musicians put on free bluegrass shows every Friday night at the Amphitheater.
Camping accommodations are at 187 campsites and 26 rustic cabins.
The new Roaring River Inn and Emory Melton Conference Center offer fine dining and great rooms.
Hatchery Hours: 8 A.M. - 5 P.M. daily all year.
Hatchery Tours: May - August daily at 2:00 P.M.
Other times by request.
Directions: Take Highway 112 south 7 miles from Cassville.
Office is open 24 hours a day for general information.
The hatchery is open to visitors from dawn until 10 P.M. all year including holidays.
