Marker Name: Dr. E. Albert (Al) Moody, 1917-2003
Marker Text: This park is named in honor of Dr. Moody who was Bend’s first pediatrician. He began his practice in 1950 and was a beloved friend and doctor to many of Bend’s families. He was also a devoted husband and father of six xhildren, an avid runner, skier and a deeply spiritual man. Dr. Moody served as an original member of the Bend Metro Park and Recreation District Board of Directors. He also served four terms on city council, one year as Major, and was an active member of the Kiwanis Club. The sounds of children enjoying this park pay tribute to Dr. Moody’s life and contributions to the Bend community.
