This mall is more typical of one you'd find in middle America than in the more urbanized Bay Area. In the past, it was a little "downscale" and had the reputation as having alot of crime especially in the parking lot. With the addition of housing in the area--including some New Urbanist-looking condos--the place seems to be improving. The original anchors, Macy's, Sears, and JC Penny's, were joined recently by WallMart (2007).
Note: The place does not have a classic food court, but most of the restaurants are grouped in one area.
