The wooden marker tells the history of the line camp cabin which has been moved to this location.
In the later part of the 19th century, as western ranches increased in size, it became necessary to house ranch hands some distance from the main ranch buildings. Line camp cabins were bunkhouse dwellings for ranch hands located on the more remote parts of the land holding.
