Yet another contemplative statue in the row of five which grace the front of this shopping plaza. This interactive statue features a young lad, reading a book, with a bird perched on the front edge, peering in at the boy.

This figure is much more detailed than the other four in the row. I noticed the wrinkle of the boys shirt as he is sitting slightly askew, the cut and waves of his hair and the cuffed up portion of his pants. It is reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting, albeit, three dimensional.
The Promenade at Sagemore, on Route 73 in Marlton, is designed to lure customers with its interesting architectural shapes and host of well-known merchants -- J. Crew, Banana Republic, Jos. A. Bank, Coldwater Creek, the Pottery Barn, and others.
It is also designed -- with tree-lined paths, park benches, and sculptures -- to entice you to "take a walk" from those well-known retailers and "discover merchants that no one here knows about yet.
