This is the nicest and most comprehensive nature center I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot. The entire nature center is geared toward children, to educate them about our ecosystem, fauna, flora, wetlands and all local environmental matters.

If you think of nothing else about this place think INTERACTIVE. The entire place is a talking, moving, chirping, growling, singing educational experience and is highly recommended. My son adored it here. My favorite exhibit in the nature center is the live webcam of the Peregrine Falcons nesting on the Tacony Palmyra Bridge. I was lucky today and the mom was hanging out with her kids. What a thrilling site!
When you first enter the building, which is gorgeous and so well-thought out and put together, there are usually a couple of volunteers to greet you at the welcome desk. There are brochures, trail guides, maps, interpretive displays and all matter of information to help you with your visit. There are two spacious restrooms as well as two water fountains. The only thing I did not see was a Smokey Bear sign and a pay phone.
The center also has exhibits on the bridge and its operations as well as dredging of the river to keep the ports open. Look closely at the pictures as they tell a better story and provide much more detail than I possibly could here. The posted coordinates are for the entrance to the nature center. Finding the correct side roads and noticing the signs and traveling under the bridge will rate this waymark a difficulty of 3.5.
