As on the plaque, To celebrate the passionate spirit of women who volunteer in our community. This sculpture recognizesthe significant achievements of women's organizations. The hope is to inspire young women to step forward and meet challenges that will continue to face women of all ages. The artist Karen Daniels used metal, granite, quarry rock and welding techniques to join the vital elements of Earth, Fire and Air in tribute to women.

A list of women's organizations that have been continuing for a minimum of 35 years (as of October 17th, 2000) are listed on the plaque as well.
