A very detailed veteran's headstone in Fountain Cemetery.

This headstone has many detailed features; fitting for a veteran and POW of the Civil War. The headstone lists information for Josephus, and his wife Sarah. It also has Josephus' military record, and a short inscription on the two other plates. In addition crossed swords, the GAR Veteran star, and pictures of the Schuyler's are cast into the headstone. It also shows that the headstone was erected in 1882 Josephus' information reads: Captain Josephus Fletcher Schuyler Born in Genesee Co N.Y. July 29 1833 Died Apr. 29 1881 in his 48th year.
His military information reads: Captain J.F. Schuyler entered the army Aug. 22, 1862 as 2nd L'T CO. I. 123' Reg't O.V.I.(note: Ohio Volunteer Infantry) Captured at the battle of Winchester, VA. June 15, 1863, and held prisoner of war 21 months & 16 days in Libby, Danville, Macon, Savannah, Charleston, and Columbia prisons
Sarah's information reads: Sarah Febles wife of Josephus F. Schuyler Born Wood Co. Ohio Feb 19, 1840 Died Nov. 5 1918. The inscription reads: The dawn is not distant, nor is the night starless, love is eternal! God is still God - and His faith shall not fail, Christ is eternal
