Marble memorial dedicated to Patrick S Myrick, James L Pupplo, Joshua B Showalter, and Scott A Zellem. These men were the aircrew of an US Navy S-3B "Viking" aircraft lost over Kita Iwo Jima on August 10, 2004. The aircraft crashed into the side of the mountain on the island, there were no survivors. The crewmen were assigned to Sea Control Squadron VS-35 deployed aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74).
Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery is situated in the San Diego area on the Fort Rosecrans Military Reservation, Point Loma, California. The cemetery is located approximately 10 miles west of downtown San Diego, overlooking the bay and the city. Fort Rosecrans is named after William Starke Rosecrans, a Union general in the American Civil War. This memorial is located in the east central section of the cemetery.
