This historic sign was placed by Atlantic County. it can be found along South Main Street and just before Park Avenue. To the left of the sign can be found the cemetery mentioned in the text of the historical marker.

I found this sort of obscure reference to the church and Smith on the web:

Feb 5,1799, Robert Jr and Dorcas Leeds deeded [REV] JOHN COLLINS,
ASA SMITH,JOSEPH Parker, Isaac Higbee,and Cornelus McCollum 1 1\2
acre to build a METHODIST CHURCH on. Witnessed by Levi Collins,
Samuel Peacock,and [Privateer Capt] Micajah Smith -note above that SMITH
BURIED his wife,in 1802, before the migration to Clermont Co,Oh. 1802,
the NJ church was active.
But, in 1811, the neighborhood started another church.
