This Sherman M4A4 was restaurated to commemorate the 4 commando brigade British liberation army that liberated the island Walcheren.

This tank was used during the landing of the allied forces on the 1st of November 1944. The Island was flooded to force the nazi's out of their bunkers. It was submerged and was found later. It is situated at the dike were the landing was in 1944. Behind the dike is a museum (see website below) and another landing craft.
The Sherman was used as a minesweeper.
