St Sampson`s is located on the edge of the village of Golant, at a peaceful spot high above the Fowey River. The church was built around the late 14th or early 15th century, though some sources date parts of it earlier. Features of interest include the ceilings, with carved trusses & bosses, and the holy well next to the porch.
