The windmill was erected in 1632 from a design attributed to Inigo Jones; it was modified in 1860 and last used in 1910.
The design of the mill is unique both structurally and mechanically.
The millstones can be found on the first floor set in a timber frame know as a hurst an arrangement not often found in English windmills.
The Warwickshire county council are now guardians of the windmill and responsible for its upkeep.
