Good Counsel Complex

Eleven buildings stand as a monument to the vision, inspiration and commitment of Mother Mary Veronica, an outstanding 19th century religious leader, Foundress of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion and designer of the Chapel, Convent and High School buildings on this site.

Her mission of compassion, which began in 1869 in New York City with the founding of a training school for indigent children, led to the establishment of this Complex in 1890 with the purchase of the Tilford Estate on April 26, Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Her mission continues today, embodied in widely-recognized programs of education, service to the poor, evangelization and spiritual renewal, health and social services.
