Pompey is a small village located a short drive South of Syracuse. A few notable people called this their home town, such as: Jennie Jerome, daughter of Leonard Jerome and mother of Winston Churchill, William George Fargo, Founder of Wells-Fargo and mayor of Buffalo, Brigadier General James G. Shanahan, highly decorated war veteran, and Allen Radway, American stage actor, was also born in Pompey.
